Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
Panic spread across the Siduli Bedpara area under Andal on Sunday afternoon after a woman’s former husband allegedly opened fire at her wedding ceremony, leaving her uncle critically injured. The incident took place around 2 pm shortly after the completion of the marriage rituals. Police said the injured man was rushed to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
According to local sources, Mampi Bed, a resident of Siduli Bedpara, had married Shiba Bed of Kurudia Danga Dangalpara in Durgapur several years ago. Mampi alleged that she had been subjected to abuse and torture at her in-laws’ house and had been living at her maternal uncle’s residence in Siduli for the past four years.
On Sunday, her family arranged her second marriage at the Siduli residence. Allegedly, soon after the wedding ceremony concluded, Shiba Bed arrived at the venue along with four to five associates in two four-wheeler vehicles. Witnesses alleged that the group suddenly began firing at the location, triggering panic among residents and guests attending the ceremony.
During the firing, one of the bullets struck Mampi’s uncle, causing severe injuries. The accused allegedly fled immediately after the incident. Following information about the firing, personnel from Andal Police Station reached the area, brought the situation under control and initiated an investigation. Police have started searching for the accused persons involved in the incident.
